Jide Wintoki first joined the KU School of Business faculty in 2008. From 2020 to June 2025, he served as associate dean of graduate programs, overseeing all business doctoral and master's programs, and as the Capitol Federal Professor of Finance. He also served as the Analytics, Information, and Operations (AIO) academic area director from 2019 to 2022.
In 2017, Wintoki was a visiting financial economist in the Office of Litigation Economics within the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Since 2023, he has been a member of the leadership team for the National Science Foundation-funded Environmentally Applied Refrigerant Technology Hub (EARTH) Engineering Research Center.
His research interests include corporate finance and international finance. Wintoki has taught classes in corporate financial policy, business investments, business finance and international finance at the undergraduate and graduate level. He has received several awards for his papers and teaching, including the MBA Finance Faculty Outstanding Teaching Award, the Southern Finance Association Meeting’s Best Empirical Finance Paper, and the Association of Business Doctoral Students of KU School of Business’ mentor recognition award.
Before joining KU in 2008, he taught at the Terry College of Business of the University of Georgia, where he also earned a doctorate in finance. Wintoki earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Lagos in Nigeria. He has held a variety of business and engineering positions with Exxon Mobil, Procter & Gamble, and NLNG.
