The University of Kansas School of Business has been educating students and creating business leaders since 1924. It first attained accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 1925.
The school was originally located in Strong Hall, but in 1960, it moved into the newly constructed Summerfield Hall. After more than five decades in the building, KU recognized the need for a new facility that could accommodate the business school’s future growth and provide students with spaces for innovation and collaboration. The school’s state-of-the-art home, Capitol Federal Hall, opened in May 2016.
Today the School of Business offers eight undergraduate majors, one co-major, nine minors, four certificates, and seven graduate programs on KU’s Lawrence and Edwards campuses, in Leavenworth and online.
