William R. (Bill) Docking is the board chairman and former CEO of Union State Bank in Arkansas City, Kansas, and chairman of City Bank & Trust Company in Guymon, Oklahoma. He also serves as chairman, president and CEO of Docking Bancshares Inc., the holding company for both banks, and as president of Cowley County Broadcasting Inc., which owns two radio stations. He served as managing member of Docking Development LLC, an oil-production company based in Oxford, Kansas.
He was a member of the Kansas Board of Regents from 1995 through 2005 and served two terms as chair. He was a 2005 recipient of the Fred Ellsworth Medallion from the KU Alumni Association. In 2007, the KU School of Business honored Docking with its Distinguished Alumni Award.
Docking and his wife, Judy, endowed the William and Judy Docking Teaching Professorship Fund at the KU School of Business, which provides a salary stipend and support for teaching and research, and the William and Judy Docking Law Scholarship at the KU School of Law.
Docking received three degrees from KU, a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973 and Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor, both in 1977.
