Douglas A. Houston is a professor emeritus of decision sciences, business economics, and finance at the University of Kansas School of Business. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. Houston then completed his master’s and his doctoral degrees at Indiana University.

As a KU School of Business professor, Houston’s research focused on a variety of areas of economics, including energy markets, environmental policies and political economies. He served as the school’s associate dean for academic affairs from 2011 to 2014.
