Prakash Shenoy is a distinguished professor emeritus of business analytics at the University of Kansas School of Business. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1973, and a master’s degree and doctoral degree in operations research/industrial engineering from Cornel University in 1975 and 1977, respectively.
Shenoy joined the School of Business in fall of 1978. He co-founded the school’s former Center for Business Analytics Research and served as academic co-director until his retirement in spring of 2023. His research interests focused on artificial intelligence and decision sciences. Shenoy’s teaching interests were in the areas of uncertain reasoning, decision analysis, and game theory. He taught undergraduate and graduate courses on uncertain reasoning, decision analysis, linear programming, nonlinear programming, game theory, management information systems, and decision support systems.
