Ron Lockton is chairman and CEO of Lockton, the world’s largest privately held, independent insurance brokerage and advisory firm. He leads a global workforce of more than 14,000 Associates across 160 offices, guiding enterprise strategy, culture, and client impact while championing independence as a long-term strategic advantage.

Under his leadership, Lockton has achieved industry-leading client retention and earned repeated recognition as a Best Place to Work in Insurance, reflecting a people-powered culture grounded in accountability, entrepreneurialism and client value. A longtime advocate for clients and associates, Ron Lockton has held roles spanning underwriting, retail production, and executive leadership, and continues to advance a connected global enterprise focused on talent development, innovation, and measurable outcomes. He is dedicated to continuing the legacy established by his father, company father Jack Lockton, for whom the school’s Jack Lockton Certificate in Insurance and Risk Management is named.

Lockton is a member of the KU Chancellor’s Advisory Council and supports various national and community initiatives through the Ron and Kelly Lockton Family Foundation.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Kansas in 1989.
