Howard Cohen is the former lead client service partner in Deloitte’s Audit and Assurance practice. Cohen has decades of experience serving the financial services industry with expertise in insurance, banking, thrift, mortgage banking, SEC reporting, control and compliance issues, public offerings, and mergers and acquisitions.

Cohen and his wife, Debbi, have made many contributions to the University of Kansas, including a $1.1 million gift toward Capitol Federal Hall. He also plays a significant role in coordinating the biannual Deloitte-KU Auditing Symposium, which serves as a way for accounting faculty and professionals to discuss the latest trends and developments in the field.

Cohen graduated from KU in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Endowment Association, the School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board and the Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) Advisory Council. In 2005, he was honored with the KU School of Business Distinguished Alumni Award, and in fall 2018, he and Debbi were the recipients of the Rich and Judy Billings Spirit of 1912 Award from the KU Alumni Association.
