Allen Ford is a professor emeritus of accounting at the University of Kansas School of Business. Ford received his bachelor’s degree from Centenary College and earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Arkansas.
He began his tenure at KU in 1976 and later was named the Larry D. Horner/KPMG Distinguished Teaching Professor of Professional Accounting. From 1984 through 2005, Ford was the only tax professor in the School of Business. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Outstanding Educator Award in 2016 and the Chancellors Club Career Teaching Award in 2011. In 2015, he received the American Tax Association’s Outstanding Service Award. He retired from the university at the end of the 2018-19 academic year.
