The late John Garland was a professor emeritus at the University of Kansas School of Business. Born in El Dorado, Kansas, Garland first attended KU in 1956, earning his bachelor’s degree in education. He then received his master’s degree in education from KU in 1961. Garland completed various graduate level courses in German literature at the University of Vienna, the University of Colorado, the University of Northern Iowa, and the University of Tuebingen. He completed his MBA in 1976 at Wichita State University, and he earned a doctoral degree in international business at Indiana University in 1980.

While at University of Kansas, Garland was a published author and a member of a variety of committees and boards.
